Gold ring with moveable interlocking hands holding a heart. Each piece (hands, heart) is mounted on a separate gold band. The three bands are soldered together at the center base of the hoops.

"Mementos: Jewelry of Life and Love from Historic New England": The hands on this ring open and close over a golden heart. Colonial Americans called them heart-in-hand rings for that reason.
