Label

Hair jewelry can be among the most personal of commemorations and gifts. According to family history, Mary Emery made this bracelet with her own hair. Her husband, Reverend Samuel Moody Emery, then gave the bracelet to his relative Martha Richardson Moody to commemorate the death of Martha's husband, Samuel.

Note: "Dear Martha, / Will you accept this bracelet a braid of Mary's / hair as a token of love from your truly affectionate. / S H Emery" (Engraved and Ink)
