Label

Brooches with inlaid feather decorations are less-expensive versions of the headdresses and other jewels decorated with kingfisher feathers made for Chinese nobility during the Ming and Qing dynasties. By the 20th century the popularity of jewelry inlaid with feathers helped to deplete the Chinese kingfisher population.
