This necklace consists of a rectangular jade plaque suspended from a woven black cord by three linked oval platinum and pave-set diamond bails. The plaque is elaborately carved and pierced to depict three small animals with large eyes and bushy tails on branches, surrounded by leaves and berries. The black cord is adjustable with a pair of connected, oval, platinum and pave-set diamond slides. The necklace closes with a spring ring clasp.

A member of the Phillips family, most likely Margaret Duncan, brought this jade plaque home as a souvenir. It may have been made into a necklace, in the style of Cartier's Art Deco jewelry, at a later date. Rather than wear it, members of the Phillips family placed the necklace in a cabinet with other tourist memorabilia from Asia.
