This tortoiseshell necklace is composed of carved links alternating in two shapes: an "X" superimposed over an oval, and a decoratively pierced oval. At the center is an amphora-shaped pendant that contains a photograph. One end is an oval slip-catch similar to those used on watch chains. The other is a simple ring.
