This card of pen nibs originally belonged to the donor's great-great grandfather, Charles Michael Taintor (1817-1905) and gave them to his future wife, Mary Lord (1822-1883) in 1846. Charles and Mary were married in August of 1846 and lived on the family farm in Shelburne, Massachusetts. The family moved to Colchester, Connecticut in 1859 where Charles served in the House and Senate.
