A hooked rug of squared rectangular form, of wool on burlap, with a tape border. The rug has hooked strips of wool on a jute ground. It shows a pictoral scene of a large stag and small dog in the center who are surrounded by flowering vines and crossed branches and "enhanced by a period enframement" (Nina Fletcher Little quote). It is on a dark brown and black ground composed of square patches or earthware tones and pinks. [see photo neg#47546-A]
