Description

Skirt with an evening and a day bodice. Low neck bodice- Black lino weave silk over black silk; wide, scooped neckline; pleated black chiffon collar, wide with ruffled edge; pleated center front and back; hook and eye closure down center front of lining, snaps on woven top; Waist pointed at front; black satin sash rucked center front and back; hook and eye closure center front (boned); full, elbow length sleeves, gathered at shoulders, chiffon ruffle at elbow; boned seams and darts; grosgrain inner waistband, hook and eye closure with 2 hooks for skirt at center back; ribbon ties at collar; High neck bodice-- Black lino weave silk over black taffeta; embroidered net band collar trimmed with scalloped white sil ribbon embroidered with pale blue flowers with black stems; yoke of alternating bands of embroidered net and tucked chiffon; flanked by vertical bands of embroidered net; center front snap front concealed under panels of lino-weave (for further description, see accession worksheet).
