Black wool felt; bonnet-shape; brimless; edged all around with black silk twill; black velvet "lip" center front; trimmed all around with green felt black velvet braid; black embroidered lace ruffle around front with 2 red velvet roses and black jet rings; back of crown embroidered with jet beads on maple leaf; black osprey (?) plume and 2 red velvet roses at lower left; long black velvet streamers; black silk drawstring lining.
