Below the title is a caption: His labours were so successful during the time that he preached at St. Andrews that besides the garrison in the castle a great number of inhabitants of the town renounced Popery, and made profession of their Protestant faith, by participating of the Lord's Supper. This was the first time that the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was dispensed according to the reformed faith in Scotland.
