Bust-length view of a peasant, executed in brown tones. Swarthy-faced man with long hair, wide brimmed hat, holding a pipe to his mouth with one hand and lighting it with the other. Set in an elaborate gilt and gesso frame with beading, and shell and foliate decorative elements. "Breton Peasant after Henri Mosler" written on back.
