Rectangular black lacquer case in two parts, the cover sliding over the bottom. The cover is divided horizontally in half with the top half caned wicker and the bottom half with a hand-painted carp motif and a gilded leaf decoration, on both the front and back side. The lower half of the case is undecorated.
