Description

This two-piece ensemble consists of a bodice (A) and skirt (B). Both the bodice and skirt are constructed of two layers of textiles: an underlayer of yellow silk satin overlaid with a tan-colored translucent muslin elaborately embroidered in gilt thread. The bodice front closure is asymmetrical, covered with a lace ruffle. The bodice has puffed sleeves and a standing band collar. The bodice hem is finished with a gilt grosgrain ribbon. The skirt, like the bodice, is constructed of two layers: translucent muslin over yellow silk. The muslin top layer is finished along the hem with the same gilt embroidery appearing on the bodice.
