Description

Brown silk taffeta with brown fringe; Bodice (A) - high self piped neck; V-shaped front and back created by applied bands of scalloped pattern in brown, black and white with brown, black and white silk fringe; bell shaped sleeves with three rows of fringe; one band of patterned silk; two rows of fringe and one band of patterned silk around peplum; bodice is boned, padded and fitted through waist; lined with a brown cambric; hidden pocket in left front seam of peplum. Skirt (B) - matching skrit; three flounces of same scalloped band as bodice, but in larger scale; woven "a` la disposition" skirt pleated all around with cartridge pleats at center back; cotton twill tape waist band (lining) with hook and eye; pocket hidden under top flounce at right side; hem stiffened with deep lining of buckram; hem bound with brown wool tape.
