Description

A=Bodice, evening; B=Bodice, day; C=Skirt; D=Apron/Overskirt. Two-toned blue horizontal stripes; iridescent silk. Bodice (A) - broad neckline trimmed with four bands of cream net alternating with black lace with black velvet ribbon; capped, puffed sleeves with net ruffle; bands of net and black lace applied as if a separate collar (tacked in place) with overlap in back to be pinned at left shoulder; boned; natural waist; lace closure center back; lined with white cambric. Bodice (B) - matching bodice; high neckline with narrow band collar; self-piping at collar and armscye; cream bands with black lace and black velvet ribbon applied at shoulders, along front and back (V-shaped back) and cuffs of long sleeves; natural waist; nine imitation pearl shank buttons center front with one hook and eye at waist; boned; lined with white cambric; hook and eye tab closure inside waist; sleeves lined with white silk and pleated silk band at cuff with the rest of the arm lined with white cambric. Skirt (C) - matching skirt; smooth front; gathered at back; cream bands with black lace (same as bodice B) applied along seams and around hem with scalloped effect above hem; bands alternate with rows of large cream buttons with "X" of black velvet ribbon; fully lined with buckram; left front hook and eye closure; pocket on right side. Overskirt/Apron (C) - matches skirt; has several loose panels edged with black lace; short side panels; hook and eye closure.
