Description

Earthenware plate with scalloped rim and mulberry-colored transfer-print pattern "Olympia." Print depicts two men in traditional Greek military uniforms (Evzones). One man rides a white horse and points with his whip while the other man holds two greyhounds on a leash in one hand and three birds on a stand in the other. Behind them is a castle and, in the distance, a waterway and mountains. The border consists of a chevron background with small cartouches depicting a sailing vessel alternating with larger cartouches with varying scenes of birds, fruit and urns.
