Handwritten on piece of paper inside sugar bowl [on Frank D. Woodbury, M.D. notepaper]: ""About 1915 Miss Mary Sullivan of Turnball? Ave., Wakefield, gave these dishes to F.T.W. Miss Sullivan was housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. S.K. Williams of Boston. Mrs. Williams gave these dishes to Miss Sullivan to keep for her and they were never claimed. The sugar bowl, pitcher and cups were bought from John Adams when he broke up his house in Boston to go to Washington to be President, and had been in the Williams family. The blue plate, (not an Adams) greatly mended, belonged in the Williams family. R.A.W. July 1925.""
