Handwritten text on the item verso reads "An old lamp at Indian Hill being Perley Poore's residence West Newbury, Mass." Province Hall with the guns and powderhorns can be seen through the doorway. The opposite end of the room, not seen in the image, has the woodwork taken from the Council Room in Province House. Province House was the seat of the royal governors of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
