Wooden throwing club or 'i Ula drisia from Fiji. Round head with large natural indentations and a slightly pointed top. Short handle with zigzag patterns incised into bottom half of handle. 'I Ula (throwing clubs) were worn alone or in pairs with the handles thrust throught the waistband of the warrior's loincloth. In battle i Ula were thrown to bring down an adversary and used as a club in hand-to-hand battle. There are many different types of i Ula based on their shape. I Ula drisia like this one are characterized by a round head with natural indentations.
