Description

"Shakspeare(sic)/ Romeo and Juliet,/ Act V. Scene III." Interior scene depicting crypt with young woman in white, Juliet, raised on one elbow gesturing to Friar Laurence who holds a torch in his left hand. The dead Romeo, vial of poison still in his hand, lies center foreground; bloodied sword visible beneath him, dead Paris at lower right. Below image, inscription (see Inscription). Effigy in armor on sarcophagus behind Juliet.
