Birch bark firewood holder, framed in rough small logs with birch bark attached to frame. Design scratched or etched on bark, of stylized forste or jungle with a hunter in furs or fringed clothes, holding bow and arrow, of elk or moose, alligator or crocodile on one side, lower edge. Attributed to Tomah Joseph by donor but may be the work of fellow Passamaquoddy birch bark artist John Snow based on similar examples at the Abbe Museum and Maine State Museum.
