Armchair with shield back enclosing five tapered and curved bars radiating from a fan of inlaid satinwood and mahogany. Stringing of ebony and satinwood in a rope pattern. The stiles are slightly shaped with a small ear between them and the shield. Seat is upholstered over frame, serpentine in front and swag-tacked. Tapered front legs with satinwood inlay having bellflower drop at top. Rectangular H-stretchers and stretcher between rear legs. Shaped armrests. Original under upholstery including strip of linen with Russian characters.
