High chest of drawers, Queen Anne style with inlaid walnut veneer. Five drawer chest, atop a four drawer base with cabriole legs. The two parts of the chest came from two different pieces of furniture in the Jewett House. The family split up the the two pieces and "married" the current top and bottom parts of the chest. The five drawer high chest was located in Mary's Bedroom, the low chest was located in the second floor hall of the Sarah Orne Jewett House in South Berwick, Maine.
