Square stern / Registered at the Salem Custom House as follows; / Oct 26, 1838, David Pingree and Emery Johnson owners. Emery Johnson master. / Copy made in 1902 by M. McPherson of the originalpainting in oil by Sunqua / a Chinese artist, showing the vessel lying off Lintin in China. The original / picture is in the possession of Walter Johnson, son of Capt. Johnson./ While in the service of Mr. Pingree, between 1835 and 1847 the "CYNTHIA" / made eleven voyages to Canton Sumartra and other Eastern ports. / Dec. 1902 Stephen W. Phillips.
