Description

Turned circular step-molded base. Shaft with turned rings and reels below urn form. Remainder of shaft is plain slender taper topped by brass ring and carved urn shaped finial with tiny twisted flame. Adjustable circular shield with simple molded edge; one side with octagonal silk needlework, reverse w/ pleated silk sunburst. Base weighted with lead. Design after pl. 93, Hepplewhite, 3rd edition.
