"Cherished Possessions": These miniatures were almost certainly made by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company of Sandwich, Massachusetts. However, it is also possible they were made by another company. Glass companies were flagrant copiers. As soon as one company succeeded with a product, others rushed to produce the same.
The Boston & Sandwich Glass Company made virtually all types of glasswares-window glass, pharmaceutical glass, glass vials, lamps of all sorts, and glass tableware. The company was enormously successful, employing at one time close to 200 men and exporting wares not only all over the country but to the West and East Indies and to South America as well.
