Stock room first floor building about 1877 / Stock Room, 1st floor West building Mason & Hamlin organ factory 162 Broadway, Cambridge, Mass. Mr. Edward Holman is standing behind the counter / he was in charge of the stock rook from 1873-1893 / The Mason and Hamlin Co. moved from its earlier factory,corner of Charles and Cambridge Streets, Boston in 1873 to 162 Broadway, Cambridge and from there to 560 Harrison Ave. Boston in 1923. The manufacture of organs was discontinued in 1917. The Mason and Hamlin Co. which added the manufacture of piano fortes to its industry in 1880, is now (1924) manufacturing piano fortes only, and has so done since 1917.
