This is the North Castine-West Brooksville Ferry in Castine, Maine in 1896. A group of people are on board being carried across the Bagaduce River. In the aft Mr. Jones is operating the ferry and his daughter Sadie is helping in the bow. The wagon or buckboard on the ferry was developed for the tourist trade in Maine and the largest wagons seated fourteen passengers.
