The scrapbooks in this collection was created as individual items, each with it's own creator and intent, and they were grouped into this collection by Historic New England Library and Archives staff. The scrapbooks were aquired through many different gifts of individual scrapbooks or sets of scrapbooks. Detailed acquisition information is available for individual items when possible, and a more complete historical note is available for each when possible as well.
