The scrapbooks in this collection were described by Library and Archives staff as each scrapbook was acquired. They were cataloged in their current form by Sally Hinkle in 2013. The collection information was written by Abigail Cramer in 2013.

The scrapbooks in this collection was created as individual items, each with it's own creator and intent, and they were grouped into this collection by Historic New England Library and Archives staff. The scrapbooks were aquired through many different gifts of individual scrapbooks or sets of scrapbooks. Detailed acquisition information is available for individual items when possible, and a more complete historical note is available for each when possible as well.
The scrapbooks are numbered in approximately the order in which they were received, and they are described in that order.
