Description

Sideboard with inlay and marquetry decoration. The upper section of the sideboard has cupboards with glass doors set over two small drawers. The front of the drawers and cupboards are inlaid with Greek key and floral patterns. The drawers have fancy openwork brass escutcheons. The center section of upper half of the sideboard has a rectangular mirror underneath a marquetry picture of a city on a river. The top molding of the sideboard has a carved egg and dart design. The lower section of the sideboard has three drawers set over three cupboards. Each drawer has fancy openwork brass escutcheons. A marquetry picture of a lion's head holding a ring has been inlaid between each of the drawers. The center cupboard has double doors that depict an inlaid picture of a woman carrying a basket of fish on her head. The single side cabinet doors depict an inlaid picture of a man carrying a basket of fish and fishing poles over his shoulder. Each door panel is framed by inlaid Greek key and floral patterns. The sideboard is supported by six ball feet.
