Description

Green calf length women's dress with three-fourths length sleeves and cream embroidered dot and net embroidery details. The v-shaped neckline is bordered by triangular shaped net inserts. The net is detailed with cream and green embroidered diamond and triangular shapes. There is a cotton modesty panel in the neckline, which is covered with net and detailed with net ties attached to the center top of the panel. The net covering has a horizontal line of embroidery going across it in the pattern of small open rectangles. Between the shoulder seam and the neck there is a small area of shirring with green thread on each shoulder. The edges of the sleeves have the same triangular net inserts with embroidery details as the neckline. The waist has a straight seam and contains two pleats on each side for the top portion of the dress. There is a belt at the waist, which is attached in the back and has snap closures on the ends. There is a triangular shaped piece of fabric inserted on the front, the point of which attaches at the waist seam and widens as it approaches the bottom hem. There is a white label with blue script lettering reading "Mary Cummings, Louisville" on the center outside of the inner waist seam. On the back at the top of the neckline is a white net triangular insert with green and white embroidery in diamond and triangle shapes. The edges of the sleeves contain the same triangular embroidery. The belt is attached with white thread in four places. On the left side seam there is an opening with three snaps and one hook and eye closure. There is a long rectangular panel of fabric which runs from the waistline to the bottom hem of the skirt and creates two vertical seams down the center of the back.
