Description

Beige ankle-length women's dress with flared three-fourth length sleeves and black yarn details on the neckline and sleeves. The sleeves are split on the backside and both the edge and split are trimmed with silk. On either side and at the point of the split is a decorative black yarn diamond motif. The top of each shoulder has a patch of shirring, which creates gathers down the front of the dress. The deep v-shaped neckline is lined with beige silk and decorated by seven black yarn diamond motifs. The right side of the top of the dress crosses over the left to the waist to create the v. The high, straight waist seam has pleats to give the top of the dress gathers. There is an opening on the left side of the dress with six snaps and one hook and eye closure. There is a belt made of the same material as the dress and has a light-colored early plastic octagonal buckle. The belt also has a snap closure. The dress has partial princess seams coming from each side of the dress below the waistline. The seams do not meet in the middle, but go straight down to the bottom hem. The dress has a gentle flare from the waist. There is a small white fabric label on the inside top of the neck, which reads "Mary Cummings, Louisville" in blue script lettering. On the back of the neck are three of the black yarn diamond motifs. The waistline has a high, straight steam. Below the waistline there are partial princess seams extending from the side seams. They do not meet in the middle and turn straight down and end at the bottom hem.
