"Cherished Possessions": A beloved teddy bear is perhaps the most cherished possession of all. This one belonged to Susan Norton, who was photographed with it in Rome at the age of four. This particular bear is a very early specimen (teddy bears were first manufactured in 1902). It is remarkable that it survives in such good condition, especially considering its world travels.
