Black wool women's riding breeches. The breeches have a front button-fly closure with five black fabric covered buttons. There is an extra flap to conceal the button holes. The inside of the waist is lined with a black satin ribbed material. The legs are visibly wider in the hip and thigh area. The bottom of the legs have leather stirrups attached to metal buttons which read James Soddler Paris. The left stirrup is original and the right has been replaced with a black fabric. The back of the pants have extra material in the backside and is reinforced with a chamois pad on the inside. There are two small darts on either side of the central seam that angle inward towards the bottom.
