The top and part of the sides of the crown are black felt while the bottom half of the crown and the wide circular brim are black velvet. The velvet around the crown is slightly gathered horizontally. The brim gets narrower and curls up toward the back and. Laying across the back part of the brim and extending out to the sides and up above the crown are two black ostrich feathers.
