Description

These hand-colored photographs by Henry Peabody were created circa 1900 to 1906 for the Detroit Publishing Company. In addition to views of Boston landmarks and streets, there are images of Lexington, Concord, Wellesley, Sudbury, Salem, Gloucester, South Hadley, Northampton and Quincy, Massachusetts; Lake George in New York; and Lake Champlain and Burlington, Vermont. There is probably some duplication of images in other Peabody photograph albums in Historic New England's collection, however these copies are in color while the other are black and white.
