ca. 1890
GUSN-191835
This album contains one hundred one 8 x 10 inch prints (including some platinum toned) taken by Henry G. Peabody ca. 1890s to early 1900s, apparently for the Detroit Publishing Company, and similar to other photographic surveys in Historic New England's collection as well as at the Library of Congress. An index accompanies the volume, which includes views of scenery, river valleys, boating and boathouses, college campuses, public buildings, historic landmarks and structures, canoeing, and haying. Also included are images of New Hampshire locations and panoramic images of the Connecticut River Valley seen from Mt. Holyoke and places in the Berkshires. The pictorial quality and documentary quality are superb.
