Walnut and oak sink unit fixed to kitchen wall. Vertical board and batten throughout. Curved sides create a semi-circular or bowed shape. Consists of flat shelf with recessed rectangular sink of enameled tin. Two doors at front center open to reveal interior shelves and pipes. Splashboard section mounted to wall has curved crest and hooks to which utensils are hung.

Custom-made by a local shipwright, this sink was commissioned by Captain Tucker for his new bride Mollie so that she would not have to go outside to a well to get water for cooking and cleaning. Even though the Tuckers were wealthy and could afford a few servants, Mollie had numerous responsibilities and chores to take care of in this large home.
