Construction of Bridgeport Connecticut Home

Description

This leather-bound album contains thirty-seven black and white 3 x 4 1/2 inch photographs accompanied by descriptive captions printed in pink ink. The first sixteen images portray the construction of a residence in Bridgeport, Connecticut, begun in August, 1927. A note on the inside cover suggests that the house in question belonged to Billy and Dodie Fulton. The pictures document the month-by-month progress of construction of their home showing its framing, scaffolding, roofing, and landscaping, and culminating in its completion in November. Street views and one interior view are included. Two years later the family moved to Newburgh, New Hampshire. Subsequent photos are taken at Niagara Falls and Watkins Glen, New York during the summer of 1932. Additional photos depict sites in Franconia, New Hampshire, Crawford Notch, New Hampshire and environs in the summer of 1927. The last photograph is a view of "Green Mountains" near Williamstown, Massachusetts.
