This is an album bound in leather which includes forty-eight very detailed black and white photographs of the Pierce-Perry-Farmer house in Newburyport, Mass. It includes both exterior and interior views. The exterior views show the Federalist mansion and gardens. The interior views highlight sitting rooms, a dining room, bedrooms, hallways, and furnishings. Of particular interest are the photographs of three different French scenic wallpapers by Dufour found in the downstairs sitting rooms (see pages 7, 8, and 20-29) and the other patterned wallpapers (see pages 4, 5, 10-14, and 32-38). There are also photographs of horse-drawn carriages and sleighs (see pages 40-48).

The Pierce-Perry-Farmer House was built in 1811 by Joshua Hills for Benjamin Pierce on High Street in Newburyport, Mass. The house was subsequently owned by architect Charles Perry and later by Walter Farmer. It is now owned by a great-grandson of Pierce. According to the Historical Society of Old Newbury "this house is one of the best preserved of its period still in existence in this country."
