Description

The card is illustrated with two images: one is dated 1776 with a man struggling to read a paper by the light of a fire, the second is dated 1880 and features a family sitting around a table, lit by oil lamp, reading, doing handiwork, and playing with ease. The product won the Highest Premium at the 1878 Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association Fair.
