Description

Travel album (10 1/2 x 12) evidently compiled or owned by W.B. Storer whose name appears on the cover. Of particular interest is a large group of cartes de visites documenting various regional styles of Russian military dress, issued by a St. Petersburg photographer. Thre are also photographs of excellent qualtiy of Berne, Switzerland, circa 1870, Interlaken, the Grisons and traditional costumes (all Switzerland). In addition are views of Venice, Italy and Germany (including tinted costume series). The album also includes some portraits by Boston photographers Black and Warren (Cambridgeport), and New York photographers Brady and Anthony. General dates: 1860s-1870s. 25 leaves, many detached.
