"340 Commonwealth'
A leather bound album of 18 black and white photographs of the townhouse at 340 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts. Photographs show townhouse exterior and interior shots of front hallway with lovely circular staircase, parlors, dining room, bedrooms. Photos show family interest in musical instruments (harp and piano) and sporting equipment including mounted deer head. Townhouse is presumed to be the home of the Dowse-Gifford family. Loose photograph in front shows the Dowse-Gifford family in Duxbury, Massachusetts in 1925. Family is shown in beach attire. Rosamond Gifford is identified. According to the Boston Directory, 1925, Carleton S. Gifford, clerk with Providence Inst. for Savings, resided at 340 Commonwealth and Charles S. Dowse is listed as the householder at 340 Commonwealth.
