Description

Architect Ralph Adams Cram designed this 1909 Christmas card in the Gothic Revival style. The inscription reads: "God rest you merry gentleman, let nothing you dismay, for Jesus Christ, our Saviour, was born on Christmas. Christmas greetings from Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Adams Cram. MDCCCIX." This text is taken from the poem entitled, "God Rest You (or, Ye) Merry, Gentlemen," by the British poet Dinah Maria Mulock Craik.
