Description

Boston architect S. Edwin Tobey designed the three-story Shingle-style Dexter House at 74-76 Sewall Avenue in Brookline, Massachusetts. Two staircases lead to the front porch, above which is a double window crowned by a sunburst. An oriel window on the side of the first floor is echoed by a window in the center of the large gable. A small balcony projecting from the second story is adorned with a railing punctuated with holes. A large single bracket anchors the corner where the front façade meets the side of the house.
