Members of the U.S. Life-Saving Service are harnessed to a rope cart at the Fletcher's Neck Life-Saving Station, built in 1874, in Biddeford, Maine. The Stick-style wood frame boathouse is ornamented in various manners, including carved dolphins in the lower corners of the gable.
