George C. Holt was the brother of Ellen Holt, who became Henry Chandler Bowen's second wife. Mary Louisa Bowen Holt was the daughter of Henry Chandler Bowen and his first wife Lucy Maria Tappan Bowen. George and Mary married in 1871.
