Description

The stock certificate has an illustration of Lechmere Point and the Canal Bridge from the Boston side. The Canal Bridge or Craigie's Bridge connected Lechmere Point in East Cambridge to Boston. The shares were sold to Samuel Torry of Boston and the certificate was signed by president Andrew Craigie. Lechmere Point was the landing site for British troops who marched to Lexington and Concord at the start of the American Revolution.
