Information provided by the New Bern Historical Society states the image is Company K, Forty-fith Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia in front of the Benjamin Ellis House, 200 block Pollock St., south side, ca. 1863, from John B. Green III's "A New Bern Album," (New Bern, NC: Tryon Palace Commission, 1985).
