Description

Prayer rug with a slightly rippled arch. There is a mosque hanging lamp placed in the point of the arch. There are two gold columns on either side of the panel with palmettes sitting atop them. Going up the inner sides in the arch are small stemmed flowers with four petals. The inner and outer border are rows of multi-colored palmettes, the middle border has a Herati design consisting of a band of continuous rosettes linked by floral motifs. The edges are bound in red-orange. The center field is a red-pink color. On reverse of rug is sewn a hanging pouch for brass rod along bottom edge.
